Abstract
The combination of an eating disorder and diabetes poses unique therapeutic challenges. Recently, there has been an increase in both clinical and research interest in disordered eating in type 1 diabetes, which is now referred to as ‘T1DE’, although services for this condition remain limited. However, there has been no comparable increased interest in disordered eating in type 2 diabetes (T2DE). This commentary argues the case for the recognition of T2DE as an important condition, which warrants more attention.
