Abstract
Aim: To reduce staff stress levels and to reduce reported incidents of violence and aggression, through providing consistency and structure in the ward interventions, by February 2022.
The project commenced in February 2021, initially spending several months understanding what the issues and concerns were regarding the ward environment. Using this information the ward used their protected time to develop the project and implement changes, with the first changes being implemented May 2021.
Tools Used:

Project Impact: At the end of this project there had been a positive shift in staff ratings for all statements in the Cultural Barometer Survey, compared to the initial survey; a sustained reduction in reported restraint incidents since May 2021; and a reduction in all violence and aggression incident reports from August 2021.
